Beverly Healthcare is one of 108 long-term care facilities in 36 states that have earned the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living’s Quality Award for demonstrating its strong commitment to quality improvement.
Beverly Healthcare Asheville has received an AHCA/NCAL Step I Quality Award. All of the facilities that applied for this award addressed how they integrated the elements of systematic continuous quality improvement into their operations.
As a Step I recipient, Beverly Healthcare demonstrated its organizationwide commitment to a customer-focused facility mission, identified its principal customers and their expectations, and indicated ways that it is striving to meet their needs.
In 2004, 96 facilities were recognized with a Step I award. An additional 10 facilities received the Step II award, and for the first time two facilities were honored with the Step III.
The award is designed to support both continuous quality improvement efforts in long-term care by promoting quality awareness and education and to recognize quality achievements.
The AHCA/NCAL Quality Award was created in 1996 to respond to an increasingly consumer-driven healthcare market’s search for quantifiable indicators of quality in long-term care. Sponsors of the Quality Awards are Ross Products Division of Abbott Labs and Briggs Corporation.
The AHCA/NCAL Quality Award is part of the Quality First Program. Quality First is a commitment by providers across long-term care settings to work toward work force and performance excellence, and represents a covenant for healthy, affordable and ethical long-term care.
A ceremony for award recipients will be during AHCA/NCAL's annual convention in Miami Beach in October.
