Ed Smith, a certified nursing assistant at Beverly Healthcare in Hendersonville, was recently recognized as a part of an elite group of nursing assistants statewide known as the "Fabulous 50."
Nominations for this group are received statewide from skilled nursing facilities.
Smith won the honor of being the representative from District 1. A ceremony was held in Asheville, where Smith received a plaque, a pin and a monetary award.
Smith was also named nursing assistant of the year and was honored at the state convention on February 12 in Greensboro.
Smith has been at Beverly Healthcare for 12-and-a-half years.
