Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center [Superior, Wis.] on Thursday, June 24, celebrated receiving Beverly Healthcare's coveted Award of Excellence (E-Award), the company's highest honor for superior performance in delivering quality care and services, according to a press release.

The nationwide program was established in 1998 to recognize Beverly Healthcare nursing homes that successfully achieved high standards in care, delivery and nursing home operations through leadership, stability and teamwork.

"It’s an honor to receive the E-Award,” said Jan Larson, executive director of Beverly Health and Rehabilitation. "I have been working in long-term care for a number of years, three of which have been at Beverly Health and Rehab, and have had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing people. Receiving this award is a reflection of our dedicated, compassionate caregivers working in our nursing home.”

"Beverly Health and Rehab clearly exemplifies excellence in the delivery of care as well as in efficiently managing day-to-day operations including compliance with stringent state and federal regulations,” said Shelly Sontag, director of operations. "It takes a special person to work in a nursing home, and our caregivers at Beverly Health and Rehab work hard every day to make sure residents receive quality care in a safe, homelike environment.”

Many residents of Beverly, family members, staff and community members attended the celebration Thursday. Mayor Dave Ross spoke about the importance of quality health care for our older adults, and his excitement about having a local business receive such an award.

Dr. Patrick Sura, Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center’s medical director, spoke about the excellent and stable staff currently at Beverly, and the great improvements that the facility has made in the past few years.

Also presenting were David Mills, regional vice president for Beverly Healthcare, and Dave Devereaux, president of Beverly Healthcare.

Beverly Health and Rehab provides quality healthcare for up to 90 residents, including those needing skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.

The nursing home has been part of the Superior community since 1968 at 1612 N. 37th Street.
